With the success of the first ever GLAM Search, organizer Empire.ph hopes to make it bigger next year, with more potential models to join the competition coming from the different cities and provinces nationwide.
Just a few nights ago, the grand finals of the inaugural GLAM (Global Asian Models Philippines) Modeling search took place at XYLO at the Palace, Uptown, BGC (Taguig City). A total of twenty-seven candidates (17 girls and 10 boys) vied for the major titles. Produced by Empire.ph headed by Jonas Gaffud, three major titles were chosen and was awarded to the deserving candidates, namely, Mr. Manhunt International-Philippines 2018, Best Model of the World-Philippines 2018(male & female), and Global Asian Model Philippines 2018 (male & female).
Phil-Am model Jeff Langan (25), won the Mr. Manhunt International-Philippines and will represent the country in the coming Mr. Manhunt International 2018 to be held in Gold Coast, Australia on December 2, 2018. While Aaron Davis (21), and Samantha Lo (24), got the title Best Model of the World-Philippines and will represent the country in the Best Model of the World 2018 (male and female), to be held in Instanbul, Turkey on December 8, 2018. And lastly, Vince Lenard Marcelo (19, Bulacan) and Ella Lubag (22, Laguna) won the title Global Asian Model Philippines 2018.
Raised and an aspiring model in California, Langan, is bent to join the local showbiz if given the chance, but only if he can perfect his local tongue. On the other hand, Lo, last year’s Miss Cebu tourism winner, is just preparing for herself to join a national beauty pageant next year. Aside from representing the country in the international competition, all the winners will receive a cash prize of P250,000.00 each, plus a modeling contract.
The panel of judges was headed by fashion director Jackie Aquino, with members, namely, award-winning hair and make-up stylist Jing Monis, Nat Manilag, Hideo Muraoka, Rocky Salumbides, Monika Sta. Maria, international fashion designer Albert Andrada, and another internationally known fashion and jewelry designer Francis Libiran, who also designed the formal wear worn by the candidates during the final presentation.
Directed by Robie Carmona of Saga Productions, GLAM Search was presented by Frontrow, a food supplement products owned by RS Francisco.
