The fantasy romance film Rendezvous captured the hearts of the viewers and received fantastic reviews following its successful premiere at SM AURA Cinema 1 a week ago. Rendezvous is a sweet, charming fantasy movie with waves of zany scenes and ripples of dramatic tensions.
The writer and film director, Marvin Gabas, led the entourage during the premiere together with the executive producer Mr. Enoch Cruz. The film had left a memorable message to all the viewers.
“Sa mga alaala ay bumubuo tayo ng pag-ibig at ang pag-ibig ang nag papatibay sa ating mga alaala.” A positive comments in social media and good reviews from film critic, television press (NET 25 and ABSCBN), vloggers, and other film directors who attended the opening premiere. Mr. Jhett Tolentino, multi-awarded New York based entertainment producer is one of the special guests who attended the premiere.
Rendezvous (Tagpuan) is a full-length love drama fantasy film. The story revolves around Balud, a merfolk (a male creature of the ocean), fell in love with a beautiful girl named Mira who lives in a barrio near the sea. A long-term relationship between Mira and her rich, handsome boyfriend Arthur is about to break. Mira together with her young sister Hasmin took care of her sick grandmother Lola Oreng, portrayed by multi-awarded actress Ms. Gina Pareño, whom holds a long forgotten story from the past. The film follows Arthur, Mira and Balud between their complex relationships and quest to realize that existence is meaningless without reverence for life.
The film displayed the healing power of friendship and selflessness at its core. The film is a collaboration project produced by KnightVision Entertainment Production and GooZam.
Marvin Gabas is the CEO of KnightVision Entertainment Production, writer and director of “Rendezvous”. He is a graduate of Bachelor in Broadcast Communication from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He is an auteur, has written and directed his films and stage plays.
His screenplay Hukay was also chosen as winner in Sineng Pambansa Climate Change Scriptwriting Contest under Film Development Council of the Philippines. His latest short film Maranhig won best director, best short film and best production design last September 2017 in Gawad Sining Film Festival held at Cine Adarna UPFI Diliman Quezon City. Another short film entitled Lubong was an official entry in Davao Ngilngig Film Festival and FACINE International Film Festival in California USA.
On the other hand, Mr. Enoch Cruz, the CEO of GooZam, an organization with a core component group in USA and Philippines, that creates, deploy and maintain a supplemental first response mobile app and server infrastructure for geovolounteers. He is also the the writer and composer of “Alon ng Puso,” the original movie soundtrack of the film Rendezvous. Music arranged by Julius Dator and performed by Janah Zaplan and JR Custodio B.
KnightVision Entertainment Production and GooZam will screen Rendezvous in different schools and communities around the Philippines and abroad.
