(Cebu City) A member of the Cebu Young Talent, Rongie Enricoso, 15, is fast becoming a popular face in social media since he joined the Tik Tok craze some three months ago. A senior high school student at the CIT University, he joined the said Google app posted on Facebook because he was convinced by his internet friends to try it since most of them are using the said app.
“I only use it every time I can think of creative things,” said the 5’ 7’’ teenager. “Tik Tok changed the way people see me. I was once a quiet and shy type of a person, but slowly I began to gain confidence and I can see the improvement on how I socialize with other people.” He also claimed that in spite of his trending videos, he doesn’t get any financial reward from using it.
The fourth of five siblings, Rongie’s parents – Fe Enricoso (mom) and Floro Enricoso (dad) – are both self-employed. As a member of a talent group, he has a passion for dancing and loves to sing mellow songs. He was discovered a month ago by the management of Cebu Young Talent via social media because of his Tik Tok posts. “I develop creative and entertaining short videos. And that’s how everything started,” he explained. And because of his trending videos, his management said that eventually Rongie will get the fruits of all his effort, especially with the various shows lined-up for him, and hopefully some product endorsements.
As a social media personality (he gained more than a hundred thousand views), with more than 60 thousand Tik Tok followers and more than 40 thousand Fb followers. As Cebu’s most viewed Tik Tok user, he will soon be launched as the lead actor in an upcoming Bisaya full-length movie, with other local artists, like Snake Princess and Zack.
Most of the people I see on Tik Tok are kids or young people and I can see them having fun making the videos, so, yes I do advise them to join. But it is addictive sometimes, so we must also know our priorities,” he stressed.
As a high school kid, he shared that his favorite subjects right now are Business Math and English. “I just transferred to a new school, so I’m not that popular in the campus. But I also get a lot of compliments from my schoolmates and classmates,” he said. His dream is to become a veterinarian because he loves animals, but with this new opportunity given to him, he hopes to be a businessman someday, aside from pursuing a showbiz career. His fandom Ronited Royalties has a nationwide membership.
