The core values of PSPI evolves around its pivotal existence, the MODEL (to Mentor the models and make them the best in their craft; Offer their skills and expertise; they are Determine to succeed in all competitions equipped with the right training; they have the Energy in their Engagement to all models; and to be Leaders with the extensive education programs they can offer).
For the past years, the country’s beauty pageant industry has been dominated by two beauty training camps, Mercator Model Agency (headed by Jonas Gaffud) and Kagadahang Flores (KF, headed by Rodgil Flores). In fact, in recent time, it shows that most national beauty queen winners are either discovered or groomed by these two camps and have remained formidable in the country’s pageantry.
But not anymore. Last July 31, 2018, a new beauty training camp was officially launched to the media at the Pamana Restaurant (along Mother Ignacia St.) in Quezon City. The group is called PSPI (Prowess Supremacy Production, Inc. and its main goal is to be leader in the world that holds the best training in the pageant and modeling industry that develops the “Best Model of the World.” As trainers, they want to uplift the standard of models, not just professional models but certified one. It means that models passed proper training physically, emotionally, morally and spiritually, as well.
The launch was ably supported by the core founders and officers of PSPI. Hosted by former Miss Earth Angelee Claudette Delos Reyes, the organizers present were Mr. Joseph Stephen “Boyet” Santos (Chairman of the Board), award-winning designer and Gololy.ph fashion writer, Mr. Edwin Uy (President), Ms. Jas Baldoza (also a model and the Creative/Design Director), Mr. Dave Ocampo (Production Manager), Ms. Jinky Garcia (Finance Director), and Ms. Raquel Uy (Board Member).
As a firm validation of PSPI’s strong commitment to mentor young models make them the best in his or her craft, the newbie modeling training camp proudly announced that their maiden set of winners in the 2017 World’s Best Models Philippines search (Junior Division), 20-year old Joshua Helito and 16-year old Alysa Esponilla, competed successfully in their respective pageants in Bangkok, Thailand, a few weeks ago.
Joshua, an HRM graduate and involed in various sports, won the Mr. Asia Pacific Prince 2018 besting 16 other candidates around Asia, while Alysa, a grade 11 student, placed 2nd runner-up at the Miss Teen International 2018. While the winners of the senior division of the World’s Best Model Philippines are scheduled to compete internationally. Pauline Ebora will represent the country in the Miss Super Model Globe search in September in New Delhi, India, while Rafael Baquiran is just waiting for the schedule of his international competition.
According to Edwin Uy, PSPI main intention is to encourage the youth to use their skills positively and be a good model. He assured everyone that with his experience in the field of pageantry and design, plus the expertise of the other members of the board, aspiring models and beauty queens will surely be promised with a continuing education on how to manage their careers for local and international competitions.
