For the first time in the “Queen City,” the reality show meant to showcase the talent of the Cebuanos and nearby Bisaya-speaking regions, is now aired every Sunday over CCTN (ch. 47). You are invited to watch and support your favorite contestants until the grand finals which will be announced soon.
(Cebu City) The first reality (audition) show in the south, CTN (Cebu Talent Network), had its premiere telecast last May 13, 2018. As the first talent search program in Cebu, it aims to scout talented Cebuanos, and even non-Cebuanos, carrying off its tagline, “Bisaya na pud, Bisaya na gyud!”
“Cebu Talent Network needs you,” said Marlon Douglas Hofer, the director of Cebu’s first reality talent show, now airing every Sunday (2 p.m.to 3 p.m.), via CCTN (ch. 47). “And we are happy that they are now gradually achieving their dreams, but they definitely we still need everyone’s support.”
As the show’s audition master, Hofer is inviting everyone to watch the show to give support to all the contestants and be able to inspire everyone who shares their talents and skills. “If they support and watch the show CTN, they are empowering fellow Cebuanos to step into the limelight and give them their moments to shine. In doing so, we will be able to pursue our aspiration and advocacy to discover, develop and empower Cebuano artists,” Hofer stressed.
Promoting Bisaya talent, CTN is actually a three-in-one show. Aside from the reality auditions, it also includes Cebuano short films from the SINEgugma Cebuano Film Advocacy, as well as Bisaya songs and music videos from Manganta Ta’g Binisaya, a Cebuano music advocacy.
With SINEgugma Cebuano Film Advocacy, we empower aspiring filmmakers to become ambassadors of Christ, advocating global concerns using Cebuano cinema as medium for social communications. Manganta Tag Binisaya, on the other hand, is composed of Cebuano music advocates aiming to discover, develop and promote local artists for global audience.
Major awards await the grand talent, including the chance to work under these advocacies. Hofer also expressed gratitude to the people behind CTN.
“So hard to sustain an audition-reality show because we need to incur several expenses, from production requirements to staff, to the various venues we visited, and that’s the reason why we are lucky enough that someone took the risk with their time, effort and of course financial support, to make this show possible,” explained the director.
“Kudos, especially to CTN Executive Producer and CEO of MuStarDream Production, Mr. Ren Ranche, for his hard work and unquestionable support, and also to our good Vice President for Finance and Marketing, Mr. Neil Seguan, and Administration Officer Rene San Lorenzo,” Hofer conclude, as he further called on everyone, especially the sponsors, to support and advertise in the show.
