Last April 28, a fashion show was held at Duty Free Philippines Fiesta Mall (located at Sucat Road, Paranaque). The collection of yours truly and Dave Ocampo were showcased by some beauty queens, professional models, plus-sized models and real clients.
Some of the beauty titlists who were present during the show were reigning Miss Philippine Youth winner Nadine Bornilla, Miss Tarlac 2018 1st runner-up Zoe Carlyle, World’s Best Model Philippines 2017 teen winner Alysa Esponilla, World’s Best Model Philippines 2017 Female winner Pauline Ebora, World’s Best Model Philippines 2017 male winner Rafael Baquiran, Mr. Universal Ambassador 2017 1st runner-up and Gentlemen of the Philippines 2017 winner Paul Guarnes, Miss World Philippines 2016 4th runner-up and Bb. Pilipinas 2018 finalist Sandra Lemonon, and Miss Earth 2011 1st runner-up Athena Imperial.
The first part of the show showcased the collection of Dave Ocampo. The first portion of his collection were suits for men, and jewel colored gowns and cocktails for ladies. The first segment ended with ivory collection of cocktails, suit and an evening gown. The second segment of Dave Ocampo’s collection are jewel tones and black gowns for plus-sized women. The plus-sized models look elegant and classy in simple classic silhouettes mostly in empire cut. This is one of the highlights of the show as the audience didn’t expect to see plus-sized women as models.
After Dave’s collection, mine was next. My opening number was my ethnic inspired collection. After my ethnic number, colorful printed and playful outfits for men and draped outfits in jewel tone for women came out and made the stage more vibrant because of the colors.
The next segment of my collection featured classic and sexy evening gowns for women and formal suits for men. Colors varied from jewel tone to champagne, blacks and whites. After the model portion, real clients who wore my formal wear designs walked the runway. In these portion, gowns that came out are made to fit real people in terms of sizes and designs.
The real clients who modeled my creations were former Bodyshots candidate and entrepreneur Jinky Garcia, All Nations Women’s League president Malou Bewer, fashion designer and entrpreneur Joyce Pilarsky and her sisters Sol Penas and Victoria Pilarsky, commercial and print ad models Igor Krosnov and Julian Wondrof, Rotarians and All Nations Women’s League members Cora Tan, Ciely Perez, Mhel Martinez, Jo Acebedo, Emily Manzano, Malou Roxas, Malou Salazar, Marilou Benedicto, Ana Villegas with sons Enzo and Sean Kyle Villegas, Cecil Twitt, Belen Pujol, Mhel Pechera, Philip Jacobo, Linda Lugtu and the chairman of the project “Fashion for Mayon” Miss Arlene Jacobo.
The shows were attended by some dignitaries and diplomats from European countries and Japan. Also present and graced the occasion was the Executive Director of Bagong Nayong Pilipino -Bayshore City, Maria Fema Duterte.
